Hi. Thanks for stopping by.
I am Malika Guram. I am an aspiring director. I graduated from SMU with a B.A in Film and Media studies and a Minor in art.
I have always loved film. Growing up I watched Westerns and Bond films with my dad, and Bollywood films with my mom. I still hold on to my love for action flicks to this day. I love superhero movies. LOTR, and I love to rewatch the classics, like Indiana Jones, and Bruce Lee movies.
Movies are what I’m most passionate about. They have the ability to gives us new experiences, take us to new places, and allow us to explore the unknown. I love the challenge of bringing stories to life. And my background in photography helps me to imagine what best serves the story.
Experiencing Texan and Indian culture has enabled me to strip humans of our regionalized identifiers and instead see us for our raw human emotion constantly in battle with human problems; both of which are constants, unrestrained by national boundaries. My background has influenced how I want to tell stories by giving me the desire to make them universal.
I wish I could live in these fantasy worlds, but right now I want to create them; seeing the world through a rose-colored camera lens. My love for movies is what motivates me.
